High-rise skills: Upgraded ⬆️

Our full-time crews spent four days training inside large multi-residential buildings, sharpening the skills needed for mid-rise and high-rise firefighting.

Since these buildings require unique tactics, crews trained on hose deployment, rescues, smoke removal and ventilation techniques. Crews studied important construction features, and Incident Commanders ran through complex scenarios to strengthen skills.

Keeping our community safe starts with continuous training. Our members are always learning, practicing, and sharpening their skills to be ready when it matters most. 👩‍🚒

💊 Do you have KI tablets in a safe place in your home?

Potassium iodide (KI) tablets can keep you and your family safe in the unlikely event that a nuclear emergency happens. If you live or work within 10 kilometres of a nuclear station, you need to have a supply of KI tablets.

💊 Do you know how KI tablets work?

KI tablets help to protect your thyroid gland which needs iodine to work properly. KI fills up the thyroid with safe iodine so it can’t take in the harmful radioactive iodine in the event of a nuclear emergency.

This , make sure you are prepared for any emergency.

1️⃣ Go inside right away, close all windows and doors, and turn off your heating or air conditioning system to prevent harmful particles from entering your home.

2️⃣ Take KI (potassium iodide) pills when instructed to do so to ensure you are getting the greatest protection from them.

3️⃣ Follow the instructions of emergency personnel and evacuate if you are directed to do so.
