June is National Indigenous History Month! 🧡
In celebration of the rich legacy of the Wolastoqiyik, Mi’kmaq, and Peskotomukhatiyik peoples who have shaped New Brunswick’s history, culture, and identity, the Commission is proud to launch a giveaway that will include:
💿 Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa (Vinyl): Jeremy Dutcher’s Polaris Music Prize and Juno Award-winning 2018 debut album, which features a post-classical rearrangement of his Wolastoq First Nation traditional music.
📖 Kepmite'taqney Ktapekiaqn - Le chant d'honneur - The honour song (Paperback): A children’s book written in Mi’kmaq, French, and English by Elder George Paul, Loretta Gould, Hélène Deviennes, and Barbara Sylliboy that tells the story of “The Honour Song” and its importance to First Nations.
In sharing this bundle of modern masterpieces created by local Indigenous artists, the Commission hopes to uplift and amplify a few of the Indigenous voices and experiences that enrich our communities.
