Congratulations to all our students who participated in our track and field meet yesterday!! Here is a picture of our top athletes in each category. Our area track meet will be held on June 4th for grades 4-8. More information to come next week.

Reminder to all Griffins that tomorrow is our Track & Field Meet! All students Gr. 1-8 should be prepared to be outdoors for the majority of the day. Please be aware that the office will be closed the majority of the day, but we will be checking messages periodically. The BBQ will be providing every student with a free hotdog (veggie dogs available), there will be extra available for purchase along with drinks and treats. Please refer to the price list that was sent home previously.

If we are rained out, the meet AND BBQ will be moved to Friday.

On Friday, W.J. Baird participated in Jump Rope for Heart. Together we raised almost $1300, achieving our goal of $1000 to support life saving research. Way to go Griffins!

W.J. Baird has officially kicked off our Jump Rope for Heart event. We're excited to get active, learn healthy habits and raise funds in support of Heart & Stroke. 🍪Smile Cookie Week – Supporting Our School Nutrition Program
April 27 – May 3

We are excited to share that our school has been selected as a local recipient of the Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign.
This means that cookies purchased at our local Tim Hortons will directly support our school’s nutrition program, helping provide healthy snacks and meals to our students.
Why it matters:

Earlier today, Blenheim District High School, along with Harwich Raleigh Public School and W.J. Baird Public School, were placed into lockdown as a precautionary measure following a reported concern in the community.

Upon receiving the report, school administrators acted immediately and followed the direction of Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS). Police were present at the schools and positioned throughout the community while the situation was investigated.

After addressing the concern and confirming there was no ongoing risk to students or staff, Chatham-Kent Police Service advised that the lockdowns could be safely lifted. All schools subsequently resumed normal operations.

The safety and well-being of students and staff remain the highest priority. School administrators are grateful for the swift response and guidance provided by Chatham-Kent Police Service, as well as the cooperation of students, staff, families, and the broader community.

No further action is required at this time.
