As Blackfalds continues to grow, the Town is launching the new Transportation Master Plan to guide our networks, trails, and roadways over the next 10 years.

Our engineering team is mapping out the technical future of our community, but no one knows Blackfalds better than the people who travel it every day!
Whether you drive, walk, bike, or commute, your unique daily experience is a vital piece of the puzzle.

We want to ensure our studies focus on the areas that matter most to you.
Join us at our first (one of two) Public Open House to share your insights on traffic flow, active transportation, and future corridor priorities before the initial drafting begins.

As work continues on the McKay Ranch Lift Station, please be advised that construction noise will be expected in the area (east of Eastpointe Dr.) starting today, Sept 11 until Tuesday, Sept 15 (including Saturday and Sunday).

This work will be kept within the Community Standards Bylaw Part 3 (4): Industrial/Construction Noise hours of 7am - 10pm.

Blackfalds RCMP reminds motorists that school’s back in session and school zone safety is a top priority!

On September 1, 2026, the Blackfalds RCMP focused on school zone enforcement as kids returned to school. During the day, RCMP officers issued 30 violation tickets in school zones which included:
- 13 Speeding violations
- 12 Stop Sign violations
- 3 cell phone violations
- 1 Seatbelt violation
- 1 improper Tint violation

“School zones will remain our priority throughout the school year and we are committed to making sure our kids are safe in and around their schools,” said Staff Sergeant Jay Jestings.

If you've needed a criminal record check but haven't been able to access the RCMP Detachment during work hours, good news!
On Tuesday September 15, the Blackfalds RCMP Detachment will be extending business hours for the purpose of processing Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks!

Time:
4:30pm to 8:30pm

Cost:
Criminal Record Check – FREE
Vulnerable Sector Check – FREE
Fingerprinting Services – Subject to a $25 cash only fee

What to bring:
You will require 2 pieces of government issued identification and proof of residency within Blackfalds RCMP jurisdiction.

- Alberta Driver’s License*
- Alberta Health Care card*
- Birth Certificate
- Military ID card
- Permanent Residency card
- Passport
- Firearm License
- Government photo ID card
- Certificate of Indian Status card

*If you have updated your driver’s license and your Alberta Health Card is combined, this is considered 1 piece of ID.
*If you require a criminal record or vulnerable sector check for volunteer purposes, you will need to show a volunteer letter from the organization that requires it.

Please be advised that there will be some construction activity on the north-west corner of the Blackfalds Community Centre beginning tomorrow, September 10.

Parking will not be affected, but we ask that those entering the Community Centre or using the adjacent playgrounds/tennis courts be aware of the equipment and work being done in the area.
