We have been made aware of fraudulent emails circulating that appear to be from the RM of Big River, inviting recipients to access or open a shared document.

🚫 Do NOT click on any links or open attachments in these emails.
These messages are not legitimate and may be attempts to gain access to your personal or financial information.

🔎 How to tell the difference:
✔️ Legitimate emails from the RM (including 2026 Tax Notices sent April 30, 2026) will come from:
[email protected]

❌ Scam emails are being sent from a different address, such as:
[email protected] (or similar variations)

If you receive a suspicious email:
• Do not click “Open” or any links
• Do not provide any personal information
• Delete the email immediately
• Report it as phishing through your email provider

If you are ever unsure, please contact the RM office directly to confirm before taking any action.

Public Notice: Spring Runoff Advisory
The Water Security Agency (WSA) is forecasting above-normal spring runoff levels for our area, increasing the potential for localized flooding this season.

What this means for residents:
• There is an increased risk of flooding due to higher-than-normal runoff.
• Residents are encouraged to review personal flood preparedness plans and take preventative measures where possible.
If flooding occurs or poses an immediate threat, assistance is available through the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA). Please report emergencies: 1-800-667-9660

Residents are encouraged to:
• Monitor local conditions and updates
• Take steps to protect property and ensure safety

Additional Information- The Emergency Flood Damage Reduction Program (EFDRP) program helps implement emergency flood protection measures for communities, rural municipalities, businesses, non-profit organizations, individuals with rural yard sites, country residences, cottages and drinking water wells to prevent damage from imminent risk of flooding.

In addition to EFDRP, the Government of Saskatchewan has support for disaster-related costs through the Provincial Disaster Assistance Program (PDAP). Information and criteria can be found on the PDAP website.
