Ottawa OPP was pleased to team up with Ottawa Police Service on May 13th as they kicked off their Spring into Safety Campaign, a month long campaign running from May 13th - June 10th. The campaign focuses on efforts to reduce impaired driving in Ottawa by conducting RIDE programs across the city. Motorists can expect to see more RIDE checks being conducted across the city during that time. If you plan to drink or use drugs, don't drive. Have a plan for a ride home. Arrive alive. Drive sober.

Impaired Driving Charges Doubled

(Quinte West, ON) - The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid over 20 impaired driving charges throughout the 2025 Festive RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) campaign.

Every instance of impaired driving is a risk we cannot accept. Quinte West OPP want to remind drivers to plan ahead for a safe ride.

Drivers should be aware that new regulations came into effect on Thursday, January 1, 2026, resulting in increased license suspensions and other measures aimed at reducing impaired driving.
