Gleaners Tri-County Warehouse serves multiple area food banks, meal programs & non-profit agencies. Gleaners Food Bank is a Non-Profit Registered Charity which provides food for families and individuals in need. Gleaners Food Bank Aims to provide food hampers that directly reflect the Canadian Food Guides standards for eating healthy. Gleaners Food Bank hosts a variety of fundraisers each year to

support the food bank’s operational needs. The events include: Empty Bowls, Shamrocks on the Wall, and our Mega Dollar Sale. Due to Covid-19 these events have been cancelled for the past two years. You have many ways to donate to Gleaners Food Bank, you can donate online @ www.gleanersfoodbank.ca or call 613 962-9043 for further options. Gleaners Food Bank is a member of Feed Ontario and Food Bank’s Canada. Throughout the year they hold seasonal fundraising campaigns for the public to donate, for example: Grocery store drives with Food Basics, Freshco, Foxboro Foodland, Metro and Loblaw’s locally at McDowell’s Independent & Marc’s No-Frills. We are currently working on a New Online and Facebook Auction and Live Music Events.

Just a quick heads up that Gleaners Food Bank will be closed Monday, September 7 for the Labour Day long weekend.

We’ll return to our regular operations on Tuesday, September 8 and look forward to welcoming everyone back!

We hope our staff, volunteers, supporters and everyone in our community has a safe and enjoyable long weekend.

A huge thank you to Crime Stoppers Quinte for stepping up when they heard we were in need of back-to-school snacks.

They donated more than 30 pounds of school snacks to Gleaners, helping us make sure children and families who rely on the food bank have a little extra support as the school year gets underway.

Something as simple as having a snack to put in a child’s lunch can make a real difference, and we are so appreciative of Quinte Crime Stoppers for recognizing the need and jumping in to help.

Sometimes it’s the simple things that can make a big difference in someone’s day.

A warm smile, a fresh sandwich, a pastry and a cup of coffee can mean more than we sometimes realize.

We’re so thankful for these two smiling faces who our guests see each and every day at Michaelangelo’s Cafe here at Gleaners. Our volunteers bring so much kindness and care to what they do, helping make this a welcoming place where people can sit, enjoy something to eat and feel part of our community.

Thank you for being there, for serving our guests and for making a difference one smile at a time!

Today hit me a little differently.

I saw more kids than usual coming through Gleaners today, and it was a tough reminder of just how many families in our community are struggling right now.

The need is real, and it continues to grow.

If you’re in a position to help, whether it’s a financial gift or a donation of food, please consider supporting Gleaners. Every donation makes a difference.

We are incredibly grateful to a local farmer who generously donated 253 pounds of corn on the cob to Gleaners!

Fresh produce makes such a difference for the individuals and families we serve, providing healthy, nutritious food while helping us offer more variety through The Community Market.

Donations like this are a great reminder of what can happen when our community comes together to support one another.
