The City of Belleville is located on the north shore of the picturesque Bay of Quinte. Ideally situated between Toronto and Montreal, and less than one hour from the U.S. border, Belleville truly is at the center of it all. Approximately 55,000 people make Belleville their home and over 200,000 live within 30 minutes of the City. Bellevilleโ€™s bustling city streets contrast the rolling rural landscapes that surround them.

โ€œCanadaโ€™s main streetโ€ and most travelled highway, Highway 401, bisects Belleville, placing Belleville just a short drive east of Toronto, west of Montreal and south-west of Ottawa. The community is also serviced by VIA Rail and bus service, connecting it to other major communities. Airport services are also provided at CFB Trenton (15 kilometers
from Belleville) which has a 10,000 foot paved runway capable of handling the world's largest aircraft.

Notice | New speed indicator signs have been installed in Community Safety Zones around Belleville! ๐Ÿš—โš ๏ธ

18 signs have been installed in 9 different areas where public safety is of particular concern, including several locations near schools. The signs display the speed of approaching vehicles, serving as a reminder to slow down and follow the posted speed limit.

The signs were funded by the Province's Road Safety Initiatives Fund as part of the transition away from Automated Speed Enforcement.

Water | Think you might have a water leak? ๐Ÿ’ง

Your water meter can help you find out. Hereโ€™s a quick way to check:

1๏ธโƒฃ Make sure no water is being used in your home.
2๏ธโƒฃ Check your water meter and note the reading.
3๏ธโƒฃ Wait 30โ€“60 minutes without using any water.
4๏ธโƒฃ Check the meter again.

If your meter reading has changed, you may have a leak. The next step is figuring out where that water is going. Start by checking some of the most common sources:

๐Ÿšฝ Toilets: Add a few drops of food colouring to the tank. If colour appears in the bowl without flushing, you have a leak.

๐Ÿšฐ Faucets: Check for drips and leaks under sinks.

๐Ÿงบ Appliances: Check around washing machines, dishwashers and other water-connected appliances.

๐Ÿ  Basement/utility room: Check your water heater, water softener and exposed plumbing.

Even a small leak can add up quickly. Catching it early can help save water and avoid an unexpected water bill.
