The Alzheimer Society of Canada has asked Decision Partners to conduct interviews to better understand the perspectives of people with lived experience with dementia. What we learn will support our mission to improve the quality of life for people affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

We would like to talk to:
· People who are living with dementia or Alzheimer’s;
· Current or former care partners of people with dementia or Alzheimer’s; and
· People who have concerns about dementia or Alzheimer’s based on personal experiences with family members and friends with dementia or Alzheimer’s.

No preparation or specific knowledge is required. We are just interested in learning about your experiences.

The interviews will be confidential. No one will be identified as having participated and any report will combine the responses of everyone interviewed. No one will be identified as the source of any comments. The interviews will be about 45 minutes long and conducted online via Microsoft Teams or Zoom. We will be conducting interviews in the second half of June and throughout July.

If you are interested in participating, please provide your contact information via the following survey link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6YZ75F7.

We would appreciate your response by July 3, 2026.

Please note, not everyone who volunteers will be interviewed. If you are chosen for an interview, you will be contacted by phone or email in June or July. Those who complete an interview will be offered an honorarium to thank them for their time.

Alzheimer Society staff Sogna and Trisha were honoured to take part in today's Stroke Awareness event and Super Hero Challenge at the Bay View Mall, hosted by CCSH. Thank you to Lorraine and team for including us and raising awareness about the signs of stroke and what life is like for those impacted by stroke!

Do your part and learn about the most common signs of a stroke:

Face - is it drooping?
Arms - can you raise them?
Speech - is it slurred?
Time - the faster you respond and get help the more of the person you save!

🦸 Not All Heroes Wear Capes! 🦸

Join us for a very special event on Tuesday, June 16 from 1:00–3:00 PM at the Bayview Mall.

We’re proud to welcome local first responders and representatives from the Belleville Senators as they take part in fun challenges designed to raise awareness about the realities faced by younger stroke survivors.

Together, we’ll celebrate the strength, resilience, challenges, and victories of a different kind of superhero — Younger Stroke Survivors.

Come cheer them on and be part of this unforgettable event!

The Landmark Study projects that the number of Indigenous people living with dementia in Canada will increase significantly by 2050. As the number of diagnoses grows, so does the need for education, advocacy, support services, and culturally relevant care.

This National Indigenous History Month, learn more about dementia and its unique relationship to Indigenous communities, and find free resources on our website: bit.ly/3ShHAOX
