📣VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES NEW THIS WEEK 📣

🎯Volunteer and Information HPE is seeking volunteers for bingos in the afternoons between 12:50-4:30pm and evenings 5:45-9:45pm. Volunteers support calling back bingos, assisting with delivering payouts to winners, and tidying up afterward. Volunteers must be 18 years or older.

🛶The Belleville Dragonboat Club are looking for Marshall volunteers for the festival on August 22nd in Victoria Park. Marshalls organize teams into a lineup to prepare for boat loading for the duration of the event. Students are welcome!

🤝Food to Share is looking for volunteers assist with preparing 50–60 meals during community cooking sessions held weekly in Picton, Wellington, Bloomfield, and Sophiasburgh. Volunteers work alongside a Lead Cook in a fun, team-oriented environment and can sign up for individual 3-hour sessions whenever they fit their schedule. Minimal training is required, as food safety guidance and instruction are provided during each session.

💃 MEET OUR DANCE TEAMS 🕺

🪩TEAM: Victoria Ciani from Astounding Heights Dance Academy, Tammy Rickey from The Frozen Shoppe and Chaz Lucas from Ink Cisive

Victoria Ciani has loved dance for as long as she can remember. She began dancing at just two years old and entered the competitive world by age four, quickly discovering it was more than a hobby, it was her passion.

With over 18 years of training in styles including hip hop, jazz, ballet, tap, acro, lyrical, contemporary, and musical theatre, Victoria has developed strong technique and a confident understanding of performance. Along the way, she earned a dance scholarship for an intensive program, performed in a Toronto Argos pre-game show, and trained with professional dancers from The Next Step.

Now an instructor at Astounding Heights Dance Studio, Victoria brings her passion, creativity, and positive energy into every class. She is incredibly excited to be part of Dancing with the Stars Quinte West and has loved beginning the journey of choreographing and coaching her team. She’s looking forward to watching them grow, have fun, and bring their routine to life on stage!

💃Tammy Rickey, owner of The Frozen Shoppe in Trenton, is thrilled to step onto the dance floor and be part of this year’s Dancing with the Stars experience in support of the community.

🕺As the owner of Ink Cisive, mobile and in-shop tattoo services, Chaz will be taking his commitment to clients across studios as he hopes to shine at this year's Dancing with the Stars Quinte.

📣VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES NEW THIS WEEK 📣

⛵Quinte SailAbility is looking for volunteers for a dock resurfacing project. Volunteers are needed to assist in removing existing boards, moving materials, installing new boards, and other hands-on support. Shifts will be on weekends in June until the project is completed. Those with experience and access to power tools are encouraged to apply.

🚗VON Hastings Northumberland, Prince Edward are looking for volunteer drivers to assist clients to medical appointments, shopping, and other errands. Drivers use their own vehicles and are reimbursed monthly for kilometers driven. Volunteers drive based on their own availability, local and/or long distance.

🍎The Central Hastings Support Network Inc. in Madoc is seeking volunteers to assist with packing and distributing food boxes to support community members in need. Flexible opportunities are available, including weekly, bi-weekly, or on-call shifts, with training provided before starting. Shifts are offered throughout the week, making it easy for volunteers to find a schedule that works for them.

🪩TEAM: Jake Jackman from Film.ca Centre Cinemas, Sue Oliver from Loyalist College, and Alicia Sewell from Astounding Heights Dance Academy

Alicia Sewell from Astounding Heights Dance Academy is originally from the County, where began dancing at a young age, eventually competing nationally and internationally. After furthering her education with a Business Diploma, she returned home to Trenton, where she now runs Astounding Heights Dance Academy.

🕺Manager of Film.Ca Centre Cinemas in downtown Trenton, Jake Jackman. Jake is a local who is beyond thrilled to be keeping Centre Cinemas alive for the surrounding areas, and we've heard just like Shakira his "hips don't lie"... Not sure what that means but we are here for it!

💃Sue is a Social Service Worker with over 30 years of experience in the Bay of Quinte Region. She currently works at Loyalist College, where she teaches in the Social Service Worker (SSW) program and serves as the Wraparound Supports Coordinator for the Elevate Plus Program—a role she has held for the past 10 years. Sue is deeply committed to supporting learners and strengthening community connections through education and wraparound supports.

🪩TEAM: Tawny Jackson from Tawny's School of Dance, Krysten Bonisteel from Sugar Mama's Bake Shoppe, and Jason Bonisteel from the City of Belleville

Tawny Jackson started dancing at the age of 8. During her years as a dancer, an inspiring teacher encouraged her to follow her dreams. A true passion for dance has led her to a very rewarding career choice. Tawny is the Owner and Instructor of Tawny's School Of Dance. She has been dedicated to teaching the next generation of dancer's for over 30 years in the Quinte and surrounding area. Tawny is a Life Member of The British Association of Teachers of Dancing. Tawny grew up in Prince Edward County. She resides in the Quinte area with Husband Rick and their son Colin. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family. Tawny is excited to be back as an Instructor for DWTSQ. It's a special opportunity for her to create and share a vision in the form of dance.

💃 Krysten Bonisteel, owner of Sugar Mama’s Bake Shoppe and mom to four girls! She developed a passion for dance and volunteering when she participated in DWTS Quinte 2025.

🕺Jason Bonisteel, representing the City of Belleville- works at City Hall making our maps! He is the backbone of operations for our family business and coordinating our home life! Has no dance experience and is stepping out of his comfort zone this year for VIQ!
