Community Notice for Sept 4, 2026

Due to the recent passing in our community, the Heiltsuk Tribal Council extends our sincere condolences to the families affected. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Our offices will be closed to the public, and staff will continue working administratively. All meetings will be rescheduled.

We thank you for your understanding and ask that we all walk softly and support one another at this time.

Government Wharf Safety Notice – Bella Bella

Date: August 28, 2026

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

Heiltsuk Tribal Council would like to advise community members and vessel owners that portions of the Government Wharf have experienced structural deterioration, including a sinking float and damaged planking.

For the safety of all dock users, we ask that everyone exercise extreme caution when accessing and using the dock facilities. Safety signage will be installed to identify affected areas and provide guidance for safe access.

We are actively working to develop and implement a repair plan, which will include replacement of float, repairs to damaged sections of the dock. Necessary repair work is expected to begin in the near future to restore safe and reliable access.

We appreciate the community's patience and cooperation while these important safety improvements are being planned and completed.

For your safety, please remain alert, follow all posted signage, and use extra caution when accessing the Government Wharf.
