Volunteering and rehabilitating wildlife, not only is rewarding because we are supporting and giving these animals a chance to live the life they were meant to live, but it gives one the opportunity to be able to have the pleasure of seeing them up closer then just a quick glance in a fields. Procyon Wildlife is excited to be part of this year's Carrot Fest in Bradford West Gwillimbury!

Stop by our tent to discover Ontario's incredible wildlife, meet our volunteers, and learn how you can support wildlife rehabilitation.

Carrot Fest features hundreds of vendors, live entertainment, a Kids Zone, professional wrestling, delicious food, and fun for the whole family. Be sure to visit Procyon Wildlife while you're there!

This young curious raccoon had fallen and was trapped in a rain barrel that had a broken screen. Fortunately the water was not deep which saved him from drowning. He was totally exhausted, hypothermic and his feet were bloodied from struggling to get out. He was lifeless when first removed and then started shivering uncontrollably and had a 2 minute seizure. He was dried off with a blow dryer and placed into an incubator to start warming up. While he was being weighed, they were able to get some water out of his lungs. He was sub cued and began responding and showing signs of fighting. If you have rain barrels or some other vessel in your backyard that holds water, please check, you might save a life.
