Hi, during the forum one of my questions was leadership. It was alot to answer in one minute and I'd like to add this.
A good leader is someone who can tell the difference between wants and needs. So does the Mayor and council. If they try and fill all the wants taxes will skyrocket, and the city will be bankrupted. Good leaders try and fill the needs and will fill some wants when the city can afford it. Be careful of those promising you all you want, most things will cause massive tax increases. We where all invited to city hall for a briefing and there it sounded like even if we keep status quo, taxes are going to go up. Over the last 10 yrs the city has taken on 75% more infrastructure but only increase taxes like 25%. So if they offer building a center or anything else its going to cost in taxes. They have put aside money for the new fire hall. So that is happening, but if council uses that money to fill wants instead, then we are in trouble.
The Mayor, council and senior members of administration know the forecast for the next 5 and 10 yrs, we don't. We will definitely need to upgrade and replace the water and sewer lines in the next yrs. This is a need. So if your voting on people that hit all the buzz words. Remember federal and provincial politicians do that. That's why Municipal elections don't have parties, we shouldn't be following what they do . We work for you not a political party .

Hello my name is Duane Scott Mann and I am running for Mayor of Beaumont.

My family and I moved to Beaumont in 2021.

I served Canada in the Canadian Armed Forces for 22 years. 4 years in the Combat Arms as an Air Defenseman and 18 years with The Corps of Military Engineers. I have served in New Brunswick, Quebec and Alberta. I worked my way up the ranks retiring as a Warrant Officer. So, you might ask why this makes me a good candidate for Mayor. I have dealt with both provincial and federal levels of government. I have managed budgets and implemented infrastructure maintenance with a smaller than needed budget. I understand contracting and getting the best bang for your dollar. I took pride in being fiscally responsible to the taxpayers of Canada. Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to become certified in many infrastructure management and financial procurement courses.

Salut, je m’appelle Duane Scott Mann et je suis en cours élections municipale pour la ville Beaumont.

Ma famille et moi avons déménagé à Beaumont en 2021.

J'ai servi le Canada dans les Forces armées Canadiennes pendant 22 ans: 4 ans dans les Armes de Combat comme soldat de la Défense Aérienne, et 18 ans au sein du Corps du Génie Militaire. De plus, j’ai servi en Nouveaux Brunswick, Québec, et l’Alberta. J’ai travaillé fortement et eu ma retraite avec le grade d'Adjudant. Vous vous demandez peut-être pourquoi cela me rendra un bon candidat pour être votre mairie. Les prochaines est quelques raisons pourquoi: J'ai collaboré avec les gouvernements provincial et fédéral. J'ai géré des budgets et mis en œuvre des projets d'entretien d'infrastructures avec un budget plus restreint que nécessaire. Je comprends la passation de marchés et l'optimisation des ressources. J'ai été fier d'être financièrement responsable envers les contribuables canadiens. Tout au long de ma carrière, j'ai eu l'occasion d'obtenir une certification dans de nombreux cours de gestion d'infrastructures et d'approvisionnement financier.
