Alberta Bill 28: What it means for the Bibliothèque de Beaumont Library:

Alberta’s Bill 28, passed in May 2026, changes the Libraries Act and significantly affects how public libraries across the province operate, and how you access library resources.

Through our membership in the Yellowhead Regional Library, we are a part of the Coalition of Alberta Public Libraries (CAP Libraries). We are working alongside libraries across Alberta to understand the proposed legislation, share sector expertise, and advocate for practical, community-based outcomes.

As Bibliothèque de Beaumont Library begins planning for 2027–2031, we're asking residents to help shape the future of library service in Beaumont. Through our Community Needs Assessment, we're gathering feedback on what matters most to our community and where you'd like to see the Library grow in the years ahead.
