Our new fire truck is on its way home!🚒🚨

Alarmed for Life is a home fire safety awareness program. It is designed to help keep our community safe by checking that homes having working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

Starting in the spring, our Whitewater Region Firefighters will visit door-to-door to make sure that residents have the minimum number of working alarms as required by the Ontario Fire Code. They will also check to see if residents have a home fire escape plan. This is a great opportunity to ask questions.

No fines are issued during Alarmed for Life as this is an educational program only. Firefighters want residents to understand the importance of having working alarms in their homes.

The Whitewater Region Fire Department received 132 smoke detector/carbon monoxide units from Enbridge to distribute to Whitewater residents who are in need. Thank you to Chris Brennan, Senior Advisor, Municipal & Stakeholder Affairs for Enbridge for providing these units.

The Whitewater Region Fire Department has implemented a partial Fire Ban due to continued dry conditions.

Recreational burning is still allowed with the appropriate permit. These fires must be no larger than 2' by 2' and need to be attended at all times.
