There will be a temporary closure of Parr Line between Rogerville Road and MacDonald Road from September 8 to October 9, 2026. The closure is in place to allow for replacement of the bridge structure.

The bridge will be closed. There will be no access across the bridge.

Parr Line between Rogerville Road and MacDonald Road will be closed to through traffic during construction. Properties on either side of the bridge will remain accessible but must be accessed from the appropriate side of the closure.

In 2017, Canada designated the second Sunday in September as Firefighters' National Memorial Day, a day to remember firefighters who have fallen in the line of duty. Municipal flags will be lowered to half mast for Sunday, September 13th as a show of remembrance and to remember the courage, selflessness, and sacrifice our firefighters make in keeping our communities safe.

Bluewater will once again offer fall leaf collection for urban areas (Bayfield, Brucefield, Dashwood, Hensall, Kippen, Varna, and Zurich)
from October 13 to November 18, 2026.

Lakeshore subdivisions (West of Highway 21)—Collection will be November 6, 2026 (Weather conditions may require changes to the schedule.)

Collection Requirements
🍂Leaves must be placed in compostable paper bags only. Plastic bags will not be accepted.
🍂 Bags must be at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on collection day.
🍂 Do not place brush, branches, sticks, sod, garbage, or animal waste in bags.
🍂 Please do not rake leaves onto streets or into ditches, as this can create drainage issues and safety hazards.

Lakeshore Collection
🍂 Green waste piled in a central location within an association will not be collected.
🍂Leaves placed out after November 6, 2026 will not be picked up.

Alternative Disposal Options
🍂Green Waste Depot - 72879 Blind Line, Zurich Leaves & brush accepted, free of charge anytime. Branches must be less than 4 inches in diameter.
🍂Stanley Landfill - 38594 Mill Road, Varna Leaves & brush accepted free of charge during regular operating hours.
Consider mulching, composting, or using leaves as garden cover to reduce waste and support a healthier environment.
