The “Kevin and Langdon Critch” Builder Award recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to the development and growth of sport within our community over the years.

INSTALLATION OF SPEED HUMPS AND NEW THREE AND FOUR WAY STOPS

As part of new traffic calming measures, The Town of Bay Roberts would like to advise residents and motorists that new speed humps and three and four way stops will be installed at several locations throughout the Town as part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety and address traffic concerns.

Eight new speed humps will be installed at the following approximate locations:

George Mercer Drive – east of Sod Lane, near Civic #18
Country Road – west of the railway, near Civic #180
Picketts Road – near the existing speed radar sign, near Civic #47
Water Street – west of Barnes Road, near Civic #427
Butlerville Road – east of Pit Road, near Civic #117
Shearstown Road – just west of Parsons Store, near Civic #366
Central Street – west of the church, near Civic #80
Neck Road – approximately halfway between Sod Lane and Bareneed Road, near Civic #22

New three-way stops will be established at the following intersections:

Shearstown Road / New Hill Road
Central Street / Cross Road
Water Street / Cross Road
Neck Road / Kellys Road
New Four-Way Stop

A new four-way stop will be established at:

Marina Place / Water Street / Klondyke

Motorists are asked to use caution in these areas and to watch for new signage and changes to traffic patterns as these measures are installed.

🍂 Fall in Love with Bay Roberts: Call for Community Events

Planning is underway for this year’s Fall in Love with Bay Roberts festivities, taking place from October 3 to November 12, 2026, and we’re inviting local businesses, organizations, community groups, and event organizers to get involved.

If you’re planning an event, activity, promotion, special offer, or other community initiative during this year’s campaign, we’d like to hear from you! Submitted events and activities may be included in our Fall in Love with Bay Roberts schedule and promotional materials.

WATER SERVICE INTERRUPTION – SOUTH ROAD, COLEY’S POINT

UPDATED AT 5:30PM September 10th. Water Service has been restored.

Please be advised that a temporary water shut-off will take place today on South Road, Coley’s Point, affecting the area between the intersection of Gully Road and Civic #69.

Water service will be shut off beginning at 12:00 p.m.

Town staff will work diligently to complete the necessary repairs and restore water service as soon as possible. An estimated restoration time is 5:00pm

Following the restoration of service, residents may experience temporary water discolouration. If this occurs, please run your cold water tap until the water runs clear.

The Town of Bay Roberts appreciates your patience and understanding while this emergency repair is completed.

During the recent Town Council Meeting, Mayor Geoff Seymour signed a proclamation recognizing October 10, 2026, as National Dental Care Day in the Town of Bay Roberts.

National Dental Care Day is a Canadian public-awareness initiative dedicated to promoting oral health education, preventive care, and more equitable access to oral healthcare, particularly for underserved and vulnerable populations.

The initiative recognizes the valuable contributions of dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, educators, volunteers, and community organizations working to improve oral healthcare outcomes and support healthier communities across Canada.

Increasing awareness of preventive dental care, oral hygiene, and early intervention can help improve long-term health outcomes, reduce barriers to care, and strengthen public health and community wellness.

The Town of Bay Roberts is pleased to recognize National Dental Care Day and encourages residents to consider the important role oral health plays in overall health and well-being, while supporting efforts to make oral healthcare more accessible within our communities.

🎒 Welcome Back to School! 🚌

The Town of Bay Roberts would like to wish all students, teachers, school staff, and families a safe and successful school year!

As students return to classrooms, we’re reminding everyone to take a little extra care on our roads:

🚸 Slow down and watch for children walking or biking to school.
🚌 Be prepared to stop for school buses and obey their flashing lights.
🚗 Use extra caution in school zones and around crosswalks.
👀 Stay alert, avoid distractions, and give yourself a little extra time during busy morning and afternoon hours.

Reminder: Temporary Water Shut-Off Today

A scheduled water shut-off will begin at 9:00 a.m. today for Water Street and side streets from Conception Bay Highway up to, but not including, Russell’s Place.

Please be advised that a scheduled temporary water shut-off will take place on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, as part of ongoing infrastructure work on Water Street.

Affected Area: Water Street and side streets from Conception Bay Highway up to, but not including, Russell’s Place.

Water service will be shut off beginning at 9:00 am and is expected to be restored by approximately 5:00 pm.

Due to the amount of work involved, the shut-off may extend beyond 5:00 pm. Residents in the affected area are encouraged to plan accordingly.

Following the restoration of service, some residents may experience temporary water discolouration. If this occurs, please run your cold water tap until the water runs clear.

The Town of Bay Roberts appreciates your patience and cooperation while this important infrastructure work is completed.

Due to today’s weather, Toutons & Tunes will not be going ahead this afternoon.

We’ll be back next week! Join us every Sunday in September from 1:00–3:00 p.m. at the Red Shed on the Shoreline Heritage Trail for live music and toutons.

Please be advised that the Town Office will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026, in observance of Labour Day.

The Town Office will reopen for regular business hours from 8am-4pm on Tuesday, September 8.
