We would like to extend our enormous thanks to Karen Hanlon for sharing her knowledge and passion for monarch butterflies with our members and guests at Thursday night’s meeting! Karen’s enthusiasm for these winged beauties is infectious, and we appreciate that she ended her talk by letting us know the most important ways to help monarchs; planting/protecting native milkweed plants, providing nectar sources (yes, even dandelions can help), not using pesticides/herbicides in your garden.
Thank you, Karen!

It’s World Bee Day! This day acknowledges the critical role bees and other pollinators play in our ecosystem, agriculture, and food security. You can support native bees in your garden by planting a native plant pollinator garden and by NOT using pesticides in your yard. 🐝

Thank you to all who made our 2026 Spring Plant Sale a success! Thanks to all who donated plants and to BEI for the donation of mushroom compost! Thanks to all the volunteers who were up at the crack of dawn to set up and manage the sales, and clean up when it was all over. Thanks to all who shovelled, weighed and bagged compost on Friday. Thanks to the Craft Cabin for letting us use their space for the sale each year. And thank you to everyone who came out and purchased plants! We appreciate this huge team effort and may your gardens grow healthy and strong! Happy long weekend!
