Community Futures Yellowhead East is continuing work on the Regional Investment Attraction & Marketing Strategy (RIAMS) — a collaborative regional initiative focused on supporting local businesses, strengthening communities, and improving investment readiness across the region.

As part of this work, Deloitte Canada is currently conducting a Business Retention & Expansion (BR&E) Survey to better understand the opportunities, challenges, and priorities facing businesses in the Yellowhead East region.

The Barrhead Chamber Job Fair & BBQ was a HUGE success! 🌭🔥

We had an incredible turnout from students, local businesses, trades, and community organizations coming together to connect and explore future career opportunities right here in our community.

At one point we were almost out of hotdogs! 😄

A huge thank you to all the businesses and organizations that took the time to set up booths, speak with students, answer questions, and showcase the many career paths available in our region.

Events like this help build connections between local employers and the next generation entering the workforce — and that’s exactly what community is all about.

Thank you as well to everyone who helped organize, volunteer, sponsor, and support the event!

Now entering its fourth year, the scholarship continues to support Barrhead and area nursing students as they pursue careers in healthcare and prepare for the next stage of their education.

From textbooks and tuition to clinical placements and long study nights, nursing school takes commitment, compassion, and determination. This scholarship was created to help support students who are building the future of healthcare close to home.

If you know a nursing student entering another year of their LPN, RN, or NP program, now is the time to apply.

💰 Scholarships Available:
• LPN — $2,000
• RN — $3,000
• NP — $5,000
