The Senior Toddler classroom was transformed into a fun and exciting Ice Cream Shop! The children enjoyed a variety of hand-on experiences that encouraged creativity, exploration, and imaginative play.
There were so many sensory opportunities throughout the week, including creating play dough sundaes, exploring a shaving cream tuff tray, and enjoying our biggest highlight- an Ice Cream Shop in our outdoor Mud Kitchen! The children loved scooping, mixing, serving, and creating their own pretend ice cream treats while engaging in meaningful social interactions with their peers.
Our dramatic play area was filled with a variety of ice cream themed materials, providing endless opportunities for imaginative play. Following the children’s interests, they took the lead in creating their own ice cream shop experiences, practicing communication, sharing, turn-taking, and problem solving along the way.
We also explored a variety of ice cream themed learning activities, including creative crafts, matching games, sorting activities, patterning experiences, and puzzles that supported cognitive development and early learning skills in a fun and engaging way.
To top off our sweet week, the children enjoyed making and eating their very own Ice Cream Sundaes for snack, a special treat that brought lots of smiles and excitement.
