Every person who connects with has a powerful story to share.

When a parent reached out to YSSN for Children's Case Coordination support, they were connected with a caring case coordinator who helped guide their child with complex special needs towards an appropriate path of treatment.

Throughout this challenging time, the coordinator ensured the parent felt supported, heard, and included every step of the way. With this support, the family felt empowered and better equipped to move forward in their journey. ✨

On May 7th, attended the Life After High School Transition Planning Symposium hosted by York Catholic District School Board. YSSN representatives, alongside York Region social services agencies, post-secondary institutions, and community partners, presented to families of students with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

With about 140–180 families in attendance, YSSN took the opportunity to connect with families and the community about the resources, services, and supports we offer for students transitioning to life after high school.

It was an informative evening highlighting post-secondary pathways, community supports, employability skills, and future planning.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to connect with us! ✨

“Learning to listen, because I was being listened to so well – it was almost like I hadn’t had that experience before in my life.”
