🌱 What a fantastic start to the gardening season at Vaughan City Hall!

On May 30, we kicked off the first workshop in our multi-year gardening education series in partnership with the City of Vaughan, and the response was incredible.

From beginner gardeners to seasoned green thumbs, participants enjoyed an engaging, educational, and practical session filled with tips, hands-on learning, and plenty of opportunities to ask questions and connect with fellow gardeners.

🌿 Workshop Highlights:
✅ 65 people registered
✅ 43 people attended
✅ Nearly 90 herb plants shared with participants
✅ Dozens of seed packets given away
✅ Outstanding feedback from attendees

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this first workshop such a success. We're excited to continue growing this series together and supporting residents as they build their gardening skills, grow their own food, and strengthen connections to their local food system.

Stay tuned for upcoming workshops—this is just the beginning! 🌱🌻

A huge thank you to the amazing team from RBC for spending the day volunteering with York Region Food Network at our Vaughan City Hall Collective Garden! 🌱💙

This small but mighty crew rolled up their sleeves and tackled one of the biggest spring jobs in the garden—preparing all of our raised beds for a fresh layer of triple mix soil. Together, they moved an incredible 2 cubic yards of soil and worked it into the existing beds, helping create healthy, nutrient-rich spaces where fresh food can grow for the community.

Your energy, teamwork, and willingness to get your hands dirty are helping us build a stronger, more resilient local food system. Thank you for digging in with us and making a real difference!
