ARE YOU ALL EARS?
Listening to a CBC radio program on books and reading ( I know-Jude get a life!) the question was asked- Have you read a book if you have listened to it as an audio book? Everyone agreed OF COURSE YOU HAVE!!!
Two of the most popular audio books that were recommended were:
* Tom Lake- Ann Patchett's newest book- narrated by none other than Meryl Streep!
* Gutter Child by Jael Richardson -a young adult dystopian fiction book narrated by Phoenix Pagliacci
PRL's E-audio book selection is brilliant. PRL has Tom Lake in Eaudio and Gutter Child as a book. But why not browse the Eaudio collection on PRL catalogue.

I grew up at a time when feminist authors, Gloria Steinem, Betty Friedan, Maya Angelou , French author Simone der Beauvoir and of course Aussie Germaine Greer were almost compulsory reading. Now, the diversity of feminist ideas is reflected so much more in so many cultures and in Indigenous female authors as well. I hope my granddaughters are offered contemporary literature that broadens their minds and makes them strong, compassionate and powerful women. HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY to you all.

Siglunes Library Book Club
This month our club decided to read a non-fiction book, which is very popular here in MB at the moment:
"Valley of the Birdtail -An Indian Reserve, a White Town, and the road to Reconciliation" by Andrew Stobo Sniderman & Douglas Sanderson'
You may have read this book or have an interest in it and may like to join the club for this session.
We will meet at the library Monday February 5th, 7-9pm

I have had a few library patrons come in looking for 500 piece jig saw puzzles.
We have plenty of 1000 boxes, but would appreciate donation or swap of 500 piece boxes.
