Today is Canada’s first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. On this day, we pause, reflect and acknowledge the heartbreaking legacy and impacts of the residential school system.

We encourage everyone to take time to understand the impact of the harm caused to indigenous communities. At the Dementia Society, we understand the importance of support in difficult journeys; we invite you to visit the City of Ottawa’s resource page https://bit.ly/39RchkF to find local events and resources on this subject.

Reconciliation is a challenge, but it comes with a hope to make Canada a more respectful and safer place for all. May we learn, grow and renew our relationships through greater inclusion, appreciation and respect.
