For our Wednesday Friend Portrait Program- You’ll secretly paint your friend, they’ll paint you, and we will finish with a hilarious final reveal. 🎨

⚠️ Important: Please bring at least one friend (groups of 3, 5, or more work great too!). We cannot guarantee an art partner if you attend alone, so make sure to bring your favorite face to paint!

WOW! How amazing is this? 🙌

If you have the opportunity to go out and support this great cause, please do! I know I’ll be filling up!

Because the Carlyle branch is part of our shared Southeast Regional Library system, their success is a win for all of us. Our local Arcola patrons can easily order books from the Carlyle location and have them delivered right here. Plus, you can walk into the Carlyle branch to check out books or join their programs using your Arcola card! This goes both ways: we are always thrilled to welcome Carlyle folks (and anyone else in the regional system) to use our resources here.

So while I am incredibly excited for Carlyle, this is fantastic news for everyone across the entire Southeast Regional Library system! 📚✨ Great work Naomi and team @ Carlyle Public Library Branch, Southeast Regional Library for making us all better!

We can finally share the great news!!! We are so grateful to have been selected for Southern Plains Co-op’s Fuel Good Day on September 15th, 2026.

How it works: for every litre of fuel sold at Carlyle Co-op’s Gas Bar (SK-9, Carlyle SK) on September 15th, 10¢ will be donated to the Carlyle Public Library.

The funds we receive will be used to practically address needs within our community: books, healthy snacks & prizes for the summer reading club (to help combat the literacy crisis).

We are so excited for this opportunity! Thank you, Southern Plains Co-op!

The library got veeeeerrry boring this summer, so I was super excited that the After School Fun has returned.

We made ourselves some hungry caterpillars. The supplies will be here tomorrow again if you feel like you missed out!

Tomorrow is our inaugural Tots & Tea community program!

We’ll have beverages and snacks available, and the toy area will be ready for play. Caregivers of young children are warmly invited to join us at the library. Let your little ones play while you visit with your neighbours and connect with others in the community.

As this is a new program, we’re very open to feedback. If you have suggestions that would make Tots & Tea easier to attend or more beneficial for our community, please feel free to send us a message.

We’re excited to launch a new Community Program this fall: Tots & Tea!

Join us every Wednesday in September from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for a welcoming drop-in space for parents and caregivers of little ones to play, visit, and connect.

We’ll have age-appropriate toys, coffee, tea, and snacks. No fee or registration required- just drop in! And if you’re able, please help spread the word.

One of the many amazing things that libraries provide are Community Spaces.

These spaces help to foster social connection, belonging and local participation. Currently, our most popular & well attended Community Program is our Tuesday Coffee Hour.

Once a week community members come to the library to share some coffee/tea and fellowship. If you find yourself at loose ends next tuesday, come on down and check it out!
