📢 Canada Census 2026 – Important Information for Arborg Residents

In rural Manitoba, including the Town of Arborg, enumerators will be delivering door droppers inviting households to complete their census questionnaire online. Please note that in Arborg, you will NOT receive your census by mail.

The census plays an important role in shaping our communities and country. It:
✔️ Realigns the boundaries of federal districts and determines representation in the House of Commons
✔️ Helps identify locations for essential services like daycare centres, hospitals, police stations, schools, senior residences, businesses, and stores
✔️ Supports the calculation of federal transfer payments for health care, post-secondary education, early childhood development, housing, pensions, and employment programs
✔️ Provides valuable data to businesses and social service agencies on language needs within communities
✔️ Helps businesses tailor products and services to reflect local cultural, occupational, and educational backgrounds
✔️ Assists researchers in studying factors that impact quality of life, including life expectancy
