Emergency Preparedness Week – Day Seven 📣

As Emergency Preparedness Week wraps up, today is a reminder that preparedness is ongoing and that shared knowledge helps build resilient communities.

Over the past week, you took important steps toward being ready, together! You learned how to:
✔️ Build a low cost emergency kit
✔️ Start with what you already own
✔️ Connect with neighbours and community supports
✔️ Prepare Together, not alone

Preparedness doesn’t stop here. One of the most powerful things you can do now is share what you’ve learned. Talk with friends, family, neighbours, and community groups, and keep the conversation going.

Because when knowledge is shared and neighbours look out for one another, a prepared community becomes a stronger, more resilient community.
Let’s keep preparing—together.

Emergency Preparedness Week – Day Five 📣

Today’s message is about community. Emergency preparedness is stronger when neighbours, families, and communities prepare together.

Preparedness isn’t about having everything yourself. It’s about coming together to fill the gaps:
🎒 Share extras you have
🥫 Swap items someone else might need more
💬 Talk through plans and support needs
🤝 Reach out with questions and to learn more about local resources

Prepared Together also means knowing what supports exist around you. That includes friends, neighbours, local community groups, and any resources offered through your municipality, such as emergency response plans and prevention programs designed to keep communities safe.

When we prepare together, small pieces add up to something stronger. Connect with friends, family, neighbours, or local supports and help put preparedness into place, one piece at a time.
