🌞 Please Join Us in Welcoming Hadley to the Willow Lake Métis Nation Team! 🌞

We are excited to welcome Hadley as our Summer Student! She will be working alongside our team throughout the summer, supporting programs and initiatives that empower and engage our community's youth.

Proudly calling Flin Flon and Fort McMurray home, Hadley describes herself as an older sister, a soon-to-be social worker, and an advocate. Since a young age, she knew she wanted to do more than simply work with people, she wanted to work alongside them, building meaningful connections rooted in empathy, trust, and understanding.

As she heads into her second year of Social Work studies, Hadley is pursuing her dream of becoming a medical social worker. Her goal is to return to her home communities and create positive, lasting impacts for those around her.

Throughout the summer, Hadley will play an active role in supporting and empowering local youth who are working to serve their community. With a passion for advocacy, community engagement, and youth empowerment, she is eager to work alongside the Willow Lake Métis Nation team and our citizens.

If you see Hadley out at events, in the community, or around our office this summer, please stop by and say hello! 👋😊

Welcome to the team, Hadley! We are so happy to have you with us and look forward to all the great work we'll accomplish together this summer. ❤️

Willow Lake Métis Nation was honored to attend and present at Tatanka Wichohan 2026 in Winnipeg, hosted by the National Circle for Indigenous Agriculture and Food.

Representing WLMN were Matthew Michetti, Destiny Martin, and Kyle Whitford, who had the privilege of sharing the Nation’s journey of bringing wood bison back to the Wood Buffalo region, from the early vision and community direction to the partnerships, learning, and work that helped make it possible.

It was an incredible experience. We learned so much, met many wonderful people, made lasting connections, and were grateful to be surrounded by others who share a deep respect for the bison and the role they continue to hold in culture, food sovereignty, land stewardship, and Indigenous-led restoration.

Being able to share WLMN’s passion for the bison, and to speak about the path our Nation has been walking, was truly meaningful. We left inspired, encouraged, and even more committed to the work ahead.

A heartfelt thank you to NCIAF, the organizers, speakers, Knowledge Keepers, and everyone who made Tatanka Wichohan such a powerful gathering. 🦬
