Here’s a local film screening you’re going to want to check out!

One of the farms featured is right here in Antigonish, with a significant part of the documentary filmed in St. Andrews at Overview Farms.

Filmmaker Devon Cooke travelled across Canada, living and working on five different farms while making The Hands That Feed Us.

The idea began after Devon learned how difficult it is for many farmers to earn a living from farming alone. He set out to better understand what it actually takes to make farming financially sustainable — and why it has become so difficult for so many people to do it.

Come watch the film, meet your neighbours, and join a community conversation about the people behind the food we eat — the hands that feed us.

September 14 at 6 PM
Big Barn, Little Farm
717 Meadow Green Road, St. Andrews
By donation

Before the screening, check out the website and watch the trailer to get a taste of the film:
