Being a newcomer is hard. Everything is unfamiliar—people, culture, language, and community. Transitioning as a queerperson at the same time feels like starting over twice.

Theres no financial safety net. No emotional backup plan. Just you, your hopes, and a dream you had carried for years.

It is scary. It islonely. But for the first time, living authentically. And that feeling is worth every challenge.

Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is choose ourselves. ❤️

Important Immigration Update: New 3-Year Extensions!

Great news for the Ukrainian community in Canada. As of April 1, 2026, the government has introduced special measures to help you stay and work safely.

If you arrived by Dec 31, 2024, you may be eligible to extend your open work permit for an additional 3 years.

Key takeaway for your application:
Make sure you use the specific codes “UKRAINE 2022” in your IMM 5710 form to ensure it’s processed under this public policy.

Passport expired? Don’t panic. While it’s better to renew first, IRCC is reviewing cases where renewals aren’t possible.

Stay safe, stay informed! 🇺🇦🇨🇦
