Essa EDC

Essa EDC Economic Development, Tourism, Local Businesses, Community and the Essa Riverbank Salmon Derby.

Members have a strong interest in promoting growth in Essa’s commercial and industrial sectors while also supporting existing business. Tourism, education, social services are also a large concern of the committee. The ED committee plans the Essa Riverbank Salmon Derby and the distribution of the revenue from it. The revenue is used towards environmental projects, restoration of the riverbanks and

improvements in the Essa Fishing Parks. The committee is comprised of four volunteers from the community, one representative from CFB Borden and one member of Council, with administrative assistance from the Planning and Development Department.

The Essa EDC office (opened since 2000) in the Angus Arena is closed for good. That office space may be turned into a office for Parks and Recreation in the future. The Economic Development Committee is still in operation with the following members...Sandie Macdonald, Chairperson, Bill Forsyth, Jim Hunter, Julia Smith, Susan Makepeace, Members and Colleen Healey as Staff Support. Angus Santa Claus Parade this Saturday starting at 10 am at Peacemakers Park and making its way to the Angus Arena. 31 groups (floats/walkers) registrated at this time.

Brent is a community minded person and has a free service for children locked in a car PLUS a service if you see a dog locked in a hot vehicle. Call him at 705-984-5625 if you need his help.
