WOW, Angus — you absolutely outdid yourselves! 🐣🎉
Instead of hosting our Spring Food Drive last weekend when it was warm and sunny, we strategically chose the tail end of a late‑season snowstorm—hoping you might feel a little sorry for us… and judging by the results, it worked! ❄️😉
Special Thanks to our Brothers and Sisters from the Thornton Firefighters Association for coming out today and standing in the cold to help us out.
Huge shoutout to the Baxter community members who saw our post, messaged their neighbours to canvas for donations and drove to our location to drop it off. Seriously you guys rock.
A special shout‑out and sincere thank you to St. Cecilia Catholic School, who travelled all the way up from Alliston to donate food they had collected.
Right before Easter, our community came together in a huge way to support the Angus Food Bank at our , and the results were nothing short of incredible.
Thanks to your overwhelming generosity, this turned into a record-setting food drive! We knew it was going to be a good day when the donations just kept coming—and once again, it’s a good thing we brought extra trucks… because you didn’t just Fill The Rescue, you overflowed it! 🚒🚚
Between the mountains of food and the incredible cash support, you showed just how strong and caring this community truly is—especially at a time when the need is highest for local families heading into the Easter season.
We also confirmed (yet again) that while our Volunteer Firefighters are great at many things… competitive Tetris might not be one of them. 😉
Together, Angus delivered:
✅ 1,129 lbs of food
✅ $1,876.55 in cash donations
Every single dollar and every pound of food goes directly to the Angus Food Bank, helping families right here in our community.
Beyond the numbers, it was amazing to connect with so many familiar faces, hear personal stories, and be reminded how much this food bank means to the people it serves. Your kindness and generosity truly make you the real heroes. 💙
Missed us on food drive day? No worries! The Hauler Cart is still located by the exit doors at No Frills and Angus Sobeys is still accepting donations and still has premade donation bags for purchase. You can also support the Angus Food Bank directly at any time.
Special thanks to No Frills and Angus Sobeys for once again allowing us to loiter out front, and for your long‑standing support of the Angus Food Bank, the Angus Firefighters Association, and so many other community events and causes.
Angus—this is what community looks like. Let’s keep the momentum going! 🌟
