This weekend!

09/12/2026

Attention motorists in Town of Amherstburg - Town Hall News: The County of Essex is installing a temporary 4-way stop at the intersection of County Road 10/Middle Side Road and Concession Road 2 North/County Road 5 to help with traffic flow during the closure of County Road 20, which begins on Monday, September 14.

County Road 20 will be closed between County Road 3/Malden Road and County Road 10/Middle Side Road for the Sancrainte Drain Culvert rehabilitation project. The closure is expected to last five to seven days.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow additional travel time when following the posted detour, which makes use of County Road 3/Malden Road, Laurier Parkway, County Road 9/Howard Avenue and County Road 10/Middle Side Road.

After County Road 20 reopens, motorists should expect lane restrictions in both directions for about three additional weeks.

The $1.425 million project is being completed by Sterling Ridge Infrastructure.

We recognize that the closure will cause significant inconvenience.

We appreciate the patience and understanding of residents and motorists while this necessary infrastructure work is completed.

SECURE YOUR LOAD BEFORE YOU HIT THE ROAD 🛻

When bringing materials to an EWSWA Depot, please ensure your load is stable, secured, and properly contained before you travel. Loose items can fall from vehicles, create safety hazards, and contribute to litter along roadways and neighbouring properties.

Taking a few extra moments to tarp, tie down, or contain your materials helps prevent wind-blown litter and keeps materials where they belong.

Thank you for doing your part.
