154 Amherst Anson Royal Canadian Air Cadets Air Cadets is a youth organization open to all youth aged 12-18 free of charge. Air Cadets is a youth organization open to all youth aged 12-18 free if charge.

Membership in the cadet program is completely voluntary. Cadets are civilians and have no obligation to be a member of the Canadian Military what so ever. The program is funded by the Canadian Government, and administered by the Department of National Defence in partnership with the Air Cadet League of Canada. The Air Cadet program is designed to provide youth with leadership opportunities, and de

velop many useful skills and friends that they carry forward for a life time. Regular Training take place at the Amherst Armories every Wednesday from 6-9. Feel free to drop by any training night (Please use the Side door)

Some regular training and activities include:
- Familizeration Flying
- Field Training Exercises
- Sports and Fitness
- Leadership
- Instruction
- Regional activities with Cadets from around the region. Optional programs offered at 154 Amherst Anson Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron are:

- Marksmanship

- Opportunity to compete in Regional, Provincial, and national competitions.

- Ground School

- Instruction on various aviation topics provided by qualified pilots and instructors to help prepare cadets interested in applying for a summer flying scholarship (free of charge) in gliders and powered aircraft.

- Pipe and Drum Band

- At 154 we have instructors on staff that provide instruction on Bagpipes, Snare, Tenor, and Base Drum. Band members will have the opportunity to play as members of larger bands, and attend seminars across the region. There are also a wide range of summer training camps offered that range from 2 to 6 weeks in duration

The Amherst Air Cadets will be meeting tonight from 630-830 pm at the Amherst Armory (36 Acadia St). Tonight will be a sports and activity night.

We are happy to announce that we will be resuming in-person training as of tonight!

If you know a youth aged 12-18 that may be interested in joining the 154 Amherst Anson Air Cadet Squadron please send us an email at [email protected], or a send a message to this page and we will provide you with all the information you need! At the 154 Air Cadet Squadron we typically hold training from September to June on Wednesday evenings.
