Lovely artwork from the students of Gables Heritage School, who visited the Neubergthal Heritage Foundation on their fall field trip!

These pieces were inspired by their class visit to the Commons Barn, the Friesen Housebarn, and the Bergthal Schoolhouse.

Floor Painting Bee! 🎨

Margruite Krahn is an artist living in Neubergthal who works at uncovering and recreating the original hand-painted floors found in Mennonite house barns from the 1870s to the 1940s.

This spring, she hosted a Floor Painting Bee at the historic Klippenstein housebarn, where 62 women volunteered, between March 29 to April 16.

Practice first, snacks second, and then on to the real thing!

Thank you, Gables Heritage School students! 🍁

We loved welcoming your class to Neubergthal for your fall field trip.

Thank you to volunteer Sharon Goertzen for leading a wonderful tour through the Friesen Housebarn, Bergthal School, and Commons Barn, sharing stories of early settler life.

Snacks, colouring pages, and a visit to the little candy shop made the day extra sweet! 🍬
