This dynamic group has 80+ members ranging in age from 2-70 years of age. All guests will have a deep experience as they witness the Kwakwa̱ka̱'wakw culture being shared in our traditional Gukwdzi (big house.) The gukwdzi has a dirt floor, when the dancers share they connect with mother earth. Our sacred fire burns in the center of the Big House. The smoke from the fire takes away any energy that
is not positive to the creator and protects the sacred sharing. You will witness the dances of the T̓seka our red cedar bark ceremony, the traditional dances that connect us to the land, sky and sea. You will also witness the Tła'sala ceremony - peace dances. Our culture is a way of life, T̓sasala is committed to the children and youth of this community and through this committment we share our culture through the eyes of our children, our community members, and elders. Highlights of Witnessing the T̓sasała Cultural Group
You get to witness Kwakwa̱ka̱'wakw culture alive and well
You will see the next generation of Kwakwa̱ka̱'wakw sharing culture to educate the world about our ancient dances that are still alive, our ancient beliefs and values which is taught to our children in T'sasala. As members we live as best we can by bridging the ancient wisdom with the modern day world.
