Please join us for a Vigil on January 29, which is recognized in Canada as the National Day of Remembrance of the Québec City Mosque Attack and Action against Islamophobia.

This day honors the six victims who were murdered in the terrorist attack at the Islamic Cultural Centre of Québec City on January 29, 2017, and stands in solidarity with the survivors, their families, and the broader Muslim community. It is also an important moment to reflect on the continued rise of Islamophobia and reaffirm our collective commitment to inclusion, safety, and respect for all.

Thank you to the Town of Ajax for allowing us to remember the victims in a Vigil and for lighting the Ajax sign green on January 29. We appreciate the Town of Ajax’s values of diversity, equity, and community solidarity.

The Town of Ajax remains committed to working with the community to raise awareness, support preventative programs and create opportunities that empower and uplift all youth.

The full episode will also air tonight (Friday, January 23) on CBC TV and CBC Gem at 9 p.m.
