Alberta's schools are preparing students for more than the next grade.

They are preparing them for life after high school, whether that means university, college, trades, technical training or entering the workforce.

Kyle Joseph, Tory Party candidate for Calgary-Shaw, believes we need an education system that gives students the skills, knowledge and opportunities they need to build their future in Alberta.

Kyle Joseph, Tory Party candidate for Calgary-Shaw, is a teacher. He sees firsthand the difference that classroom conditions and the right supports can make.

Class size matters. Resources matter. Giving teachers the support they need matters.

As students head back to school, Kyle believes education decisions should focus on what works for students and the people working with them every day.

We are celebrating famous Canadians who grew up in Alberta.

We are proud Albertans and proud Canadians, and we are glad to put forward our best to the world.

Born in Edmonton, before moving with his military family to BC, Michael J. Fox became one of the world’s most recognizable actors through unforgettable performances in Family Ties, Spin City and the Back to the Future trilogy.

His influence reaches far beyond the screen. After publicly sharing his Parkinson’s diagnosis, Fox established The Michael J. Fox Foundation, which has become a major force in the search for better treatments and a cure.

From Alberta beginnings to Hollywood stardom—and then to extraordinary global advocacy—his story is one of talent, optimism and determination.

What is your favourite Michael J. Fox performance?

Alberta is growing, and our schools need to keep up.

That means addressing class size and classroom complexity, making sure schools have the capacity they need, and providing students with the supports that help them succeed.

Good education policy starts with a simple question: what do students need to learn and succeed?

Across Alberta, students are heading back to school and families are getting back into their routines.

Every student should have the opportunity to build strong foundations in literacy and numeracy, develop practical skills and prepare for the next step, whether that is post-secondary education, trades, training or work.

That is what education and opportunity should be about.

Hi everyone from Kyle!

Thank you so much for your enthusiasm, energy, and unwavering support throughout this campaign. Whether you’ve helped with a one-time literature drop, spent an evening knocking on doors, put up signs, shared our message, or volunteered several times, please know how incredibly grateful I am for every bit of time and effort you’ve given.

What has meant the most to me is seeing the community that has come together around this campaign. We are showing people that politics can be about neighbours working together, having meaningful conversations, and giving people a genuine alternative.

Now, we’re heading into the final week of the campaign, and it’s time for one last big push.

Every door we knock, every piece of literature we deliver, and every conversation we have gives another voter the chance to hear that there is a progressive conservative choice. Again and again, we’ve heard from people who have been waiting for an alternative like ours, and they’re excited that we are finally here.

We’ve built something special together. Now let’s finish strong, get the word out, and make this final week count.

Thank you for everything you’ve done and everything you’re about to do!

Kyle

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

THE UCP TALKS ABOUT FREEDOM - UNTIL IT COMES TO POLITICAL COMPETITION

The UCP likes to portray itself as the defender of freedom in Alberta. Evidently, that freedom has its limits when someone decides to compete with them politically.

When we sought to revive the Progressive Conservative name in Alberta, the UCP responded with threats, interference in our application with Elections Alberta and ultimately a lawsuit seeking injunctions and $500,000 in damages against our party and individuals personally.

The UCP lawsuit claimed they had maintained the PC Alberta trademarks and had the exclusive right to use them.

That was challenged.

On August 31st, the Canadian Intellectual Property Office released its decision.

The Registrar found that the UCP failed to provide evidence beyond “bare assertions” demonstrating use of the PC marks during the relevant three-year period and ordered all three trademark registrations expunged.

This is fascinating.

The UCP went to court claiming trademark infringement and seeking $500,000 in damages while the trademarks at the center of that claim were ultimately ordered expunged for non-use.

And when the legal process wasn't enough to prevent political competition, the UCP government changed the law with Bill 14 to restrict other political parties from using the word “Conservative” in their name.

That is not how a confident government behaves, and it certainly isn't in the best interests of Albertans.
Freedom includes political freedom. It means allowing people to organize, compete, challenge government and offer Albertans another choice without having the power of government or costly litigation used as a hammer over their heads.

We expect the UCP to immediately withdraw its lawsuit in light of this decision.

The Tory Party will also continue examining every available avenue to challenge the government's interference through Bill 14.

And when given the opportunity to govern, we will introduce meaningful anti-SLAPP legislation in Alberta so lawsuits cannot be used simply to intimidate or silence legitimate public participation.

Government should win arguments by having better ideas - not by trying to eliminate the competition or intimidate opponents.

They may have prevented us from using the Progressive Conservative name, but they didn't prevent us from competing.

We are the Tory Party, and we are here to stay.
