☀ The District of Kent is reminding everyone to take precautions as the temperatures rise over the coming weekend. Be sure to check in on vulnerable loved ones and neighbours.

Follow along with our tips below for staying cool indoors, or to find local public spaces to cool off. The District encourages residents to check out Prepared BC’s Extreme Preparedness Guide for more heat-related information and tips on staying cool:

Thousands of census employees across the country are helping collect data that are vital to improving the lives of Canadians. These are your family, friends or neighbours making a difference for your community.

If you haven't completed your questionnaire yet and we follow up with you, here’s how to recognize official census communications:

📩 Reminder letters will be sent by mail or delivered in person, which will contain a secure access code to complete the census questionnaire online.

🪪 In person follow-ups will be conducted by employees with an identification card.

📱 Text message reminders may also be sent from the text message short code number 236732.

📞 If a follow-up phone call to a household is needed, the census employees will identify themselves clearly.

We’re proud to be period-friendly!

Being period-friendly means showing up for our community in a real, tangible way. When we support access to menstrual products, we support dignity, health, and inclusion. On May 28, Menstrual Health Day, we’re celebrating the spaces making a difference and the organizations advocating for menstrual equity. We invite you to join us!

Looking for free period products in your community? Check out the PeriodPin.ca map to explore period-friendly organizations across Canada.
