Strings are up!

Cascade, Chinook, and Cashmere are fully strung across two of our three fields. Each variety is now secured to the trellis, setting the structure for the season ahead.

Stringing is one of the important steps that shapes canopy development. It influences how the plant fills in - light interception, airflow, and cone formation. That structure carries through to yield, oil content, alphas, and how each lot behaves in the brewhouse this fall.

We’re locked into structure for the season now. Anyone else already locked in their fall hops?

Great having the Chilliwack Teachers Association out at the farm today for their Pro-D conference - we had a blast!

We walked through the whole process - baby plants in the field, harvest, pelletizing, and finishing with beer. It’s always exciting to show how the pieces connect, and where hops fit between agriculture and what ends up in the glass.

Thanks for spending the day with us and for the thoughtful questions. We really appreciate the chance to share what we do with our local community.

A new BC-bred Lager hop, still early in its story.

Developed through the NextGen Hops program and grown on just two farms worldwide, GAAN-19 brings a familiar noble base—think Saaz, Sterling, Tettnang—with a slightly more expressive, fruit-forward edge. Clean, layered, and built for modern lagers.

Beacon Brewing recently showcased it in their “NextGen Lager,” a Vienna Lager that highlights both tradition and innovation in a really thoughtful way.

We’re currently offering GAAN-19 at no cost for commercial trial and would love to see where more brewers take it. Drop us a line to set up your trial!

Last week was a reminder of what makes the craft beer world so special.

Between collab brew days, industry celebrations, and the International Women’s Day tap takeover, we were surrounded by an incredible group of brewers, cider makers, and industry friends from across Langley and the Fraser Valley.

So much collaboration, support, and good beer packed into one week. We’re incredibly grateful to be part of this community — and excited to keep collaborating with more amazing Canadian brewers. 🍻
