I am deeply disheartened as a proud member of the Reserve Philippine Army, observing the government's response to widespread protests and demonstrations. Despite overwhelming evidence of corruption and the struggles faced by Filipinos, the administration seems to prioritize maintaining power over serving the people. The arrest of protesters and filing of cases against them, coupled with the defense of corrupt officials, is particularly disconcerting. The stark contrast between the struggles of ordinary citizens and the extravagance of politicians, who accumulate wealth and luxury at the expense of taxpayers, is alarming. Given the severity of this situation, which appears to be rooted in systemic corruption, I can only hope for divine intervention. It is perplexing that institutions tasked with upholding justice, such as the military, police, and judiciary, seem ineffective in addressing these issues. Ultimately, the lack of accountability and prioritization of self-interest over public welfare raises questions about leadership and the future of our nation. Perhaps, through collective prayer and seeking guidance, we can navigate these challenges and strive for better leadership in the future.
