Abbotsford Police Arrest in Aldergrove Today

Earlier this afternoon, Abbotsford Police officers attended the 3200 block of 273rd Street in Aldergrove to arrest a 37-year-old man known to police as a prolific offender in connection to an incident that occurred on May 25th.

On the morning of May 25th, AbbyPD officers observed the man operating a vehicle displaying stolen licence plates. Police followed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in an attempt to arrest him. During the attempted traffic stop, the man reversed into a police vehicle and fled the scene. No pursuit was initiated. The police vehicle sustained minor damage.

Today June 1st, officers attended the man’s residence to arrest him. Additional resources were deployed to help ensure the arrest was carried out safely. Air 1 and the Lower Mainland District Integrated Police Dog Service also assisted in the operation. After a short time, the man was arrested without incident.

Police are recommending charges of Assaulting a Peace Officer, Flight from Police, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property, Driving While Suspended, and Driving While Prohibited.

This incident highlights the real risks posed by repeat offenders who engage in dangerous and unpredictable behaviour. The mans actions—ramming a police vehicle and fleeing—placed officers and the public at risk.

The Abbotsford Police Department remains committed to holding offenders accountable while ensuring the safety of our community and our officers. Today’s coordinated arrest demonstrates our ongoing efforts to safely apprehend individuals who pose a threat to public safety.

We want to reassure the public that incidents like this are taken seriously, and our officers will continue to work diligently to prevent harm and keep our community safe.

If you’re still waiting on a DoorDash grocery order today and wondering what’s taking so long… we can clear that up for you.

Your driver decided to turn Marshall Road extension into their personal racetrack, clocking in at 117 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone. Bold strategy… not a winning one.

And they weren’t the only ones in a hurry. Speed was clearly trending today throughout the city—our Traffic Enforcement Unit impounded a total of 11 vehicles for excessive speed today in just 10 hours.

Reminder: speeding isn’t just risky—it puts everyone on the road at risk. Slow down, follow the posted limits, and help keep our roads safe for everyone. Were out there even when you don’t see us.

On Wednesday, May 27th, just before 3:00 p.m., Abbotsford Police Department Patrol Officers were conducting proactive patrols when they observed suspected drug activity in the 32400 block of South Fraser Way. A 48-year-old Abbotsford woman was arrested in connection with the incident. A search of the suspect resulted in the seizure of over 100 grams of packaged drugs, including fentanyl, along with a small amount of cash. The investigation remains ongoing.

AbbyPD reminds those involved in the drug trade that the possession and sale of illegal drugs are criminal offences. Members of the Abbotsford Police Department Gang Crime Unit (GCU) continue their targeted enforcement against individuals involved in gang violence and the distribution of illegal drugs within our community. Their proactive efforts are focused on disrupting criminal networks, protecting vulnerable individuals, and enhancing public safety.

Yesterday, just after 10:00 a.m., officers made an arrest as part of these ongoing operations. During a traffic stop, a 23-year-old man who had come to Abbotsford to sell drugs was arrested. A search of the vehicle revealed a bag containing methamphetamine, crack co***ne, and fentanyl. In total, over 11 ounces of drugs were seized, with an estimated street value of approximately $11,000. Officers also seized his vehicle, a Honda Civic, along with $1,905 in cash, and a forfeiture application is being pursued.

This investigation underscores the ongoing risk posed by those involved in the drug trade and organized crime. Each seizure not only removes dangerous substances from our streets but also disrupts the networks that contribute to violence and addiction in our community.

Public Safety Message:

If you are involved in gang activity or drug trafficking, be aware—enforcement efforts are ongoing, coordinated, and relentless. AbbyPD’s GCU is committed to identifying those responsible, holding them accountable, and dismantling their operations.

For the public: your information matters. If you see suspicious activity or have concerns about drug-related activity in your neighbourhood, report it. Together, we can reduce harm, strengthen community safety, and send a clear message—gang violence and drug trafficking have no place in Abbotsford.
