November 25th β€” International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls πŸ’œ

Today, we stand together to say NO to gender-based and intimate partner violence.

Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) doesn’t just affect individuals β€” it impacts children, families, workplaces, and the wellbeing of our entire community. Every act of violence ripples outward, and every act of care helps build a stronger, safer future for everyone.

This day also marks the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (Nov 25 – Dec 10) β€” a global call to action to raise awareness, support survivors, and work toward prevention and lasting change.

The Abbotsford/Mission VAWIR Committee works in partnership with local agencies to support survivors, strengthen coordinated community responses, and promote education and prevention.

For the 16 Days of Activism, Purple Lights Nights will highlight our community partners to raise awareness and strengthen our collective ability to speak out and end intimate partner violence (IPV).

πŸ’œJoin us in learning more, and speaking out against violence.
πŸ“… November 25 – International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and GirlsοΏ½πŸ’œ Together, we can end violence and create safe, thriving communities.

Together, as Abbotsford & Mission VAWIR members, we reaffirm our commitment to ending violence against women and girls. Through collaboration, survivor-centered support, and prevention, we strive for lasting change in our communities.
