🐳 FVRL Summer Reading Clubs: Under the Sea
🔗 Learn more at the link in comments.

Hello everyone. My name is Jordanne. I’m here to tell you about our 2026 Summer Reading Club at the Fraser Valley Regional Library.

This year’s theme is Under the Sea. Get ready to dive into a sea of stories, where every book is a new ocean adventure. Swim alongside sea turtles, explore coral reefs, and discover sunken treasure all through the magical world of reading.

Summer Reading Club Under the Sea starts officially on June 21. To join the Summer Reading Club, you can visit your nearest library to pick up a reading record. Our friendly staff are always happy to help. Or you can join from anywhere by downloading the Beanstack app. You can find it in your app store or visit our website.

To participate in Summer Reading Club Under the Sea, track your reading every day using your reading record. You can track your reading on your paper record that you get from your local library or on the Beanstack app — or both!

Don’t forget to return to the library throughout the summer to earn fun stickers for your reading record, enter contests for cool prizes, borrow books and attend library programs. If you are participating through the Beanstack app, you can earn virtual badges and track your reading progress through the summer. Beanstack automatically enters you to win prizes. Sign in from anywhere at any time to track your reading.

Make reading a whale of a time this summer! Did you know that Summer Reading Club is open for teens and adults to join too? Families of all ages can participate together to encourage reading and discover what your local library has to offer. Fraser Valley Regional Library has something for everyone this summer, and it’s all absolutely free.

Visit our website and follow us on social media for information on Summer Reading Cub performances, programs and activities all summer long. If you have questions, please visit our website or your nearest Fraser Valley Regional Library. Happy reading! See you under the sea.

🎙️In today’s podcast, Dave tells us about a book called Rune: The Tale of a Thousand Faces. It’s the first in a graphic novel series by author-illustrator Carlos Sánchez. It’s a great choice for middle-school and older kids — particularly those with an interest in D&D-style games and fantasy worlds. 🔗Listen to the full episode at Kids' ReadRadio podcast. 📚 Reading Adviser Robyn is reading That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon by Kimberly Lemming. (Link in comments.)

💬"Walking home after imbibing a bit too much wine at a town festival, Cinnamon Hotpepper inadvertently saves a demon from under a pile of rubble. He immediately tries to kill her (as demon/human relations usually go), so she’s a bit surprised when he calmly shows up on her doorstep the next morning. Turns out demons aren’t evil, they’re just under a curse by an actually evil witch, and Fallon wants Cinnamon to help him break that curse. It’s a short, adventurous fantasy escape that’s a bit saucy (the heroine) and a whole lot spicy (the romance)!"
