This morning, government employees, parastatals and members of the Gantsi community came together for the National Clean-Up Campaign joining hands to clean different areas across Ghanzi Township before gathering at the Bus Rank open space. The campaign reflects our shared commitment to keeping Ghanzi clean, healthy and welcoming for everyone.

Speaking at the close of the campaign, Council Chairman Honourable Thabiso Kebadile encouraged participants to make cleanliness a daily habit rather than a once-off activity. He urged residents, businesses and all stakeholders to take responsibility for keeping public spaces, particularly the shopping mall and bus rank, clean, as they are the first places visitors see when arriving in Ghanzi. He also proposed that future clean-up campaigns focus on one ward at a time to strengthen community ownership and ensure a more thorough clean-up.

Ghanzi District Council, through Primary Health Care Department hosted a Botsogo Pitso community engagement forum at Kgaphamadi Kgotla to discuss healthcare services provided at Gantsi Clinic.

The meeting gave residents an opportunity to share their experiences, raise concerns and suggest ways to improve healthcare services in the community.
Residents highlighted several challenges including staff shortages, availability of an eye doctor, shortages of medical supplies, inadequate transport and other general healthcare concerns. However , besides these challenges they also expressed appreciation for the dedication and quality of service provided by the clinic staff.

Responding to the issues raised, health officials informed the community that the availability of medication has improved following the recent delivery of medical supplies with additional stock expected soon. They also assured of their commitment to strengthening service delivery by addressing the concerns raised and continuing to improve access to quality healthcare for residents.

As we welcome the month of August, we would like to keep you updated on an important change within our organization. Following the transfer of Mr Samuel Aaron to Okavango District,the Deputy Council Secretaries have been acting in the role of Council Secretary.

We are pleased to announce that, for the next three months, Ms Tseo Mmonatau, Deputy Council Secretary(Corporate Services) will serve as the Acting Council Secretary.
