Meet Nkosinathi Joseph of BW 3D Printing.
The venture provides 3D printing services, training and materials, with a focus on producing hard to source and customised parts in a timely way.

Through BDIH, BW 3D Printing has benefited from workspace, business training and opportunities to showcase its capabilities to a wider audience.

Its participation at the Botswana Consumer Fair 2026 created an opportunity to demonstrate what 3D printing can do, generate commercial leads, validate market demand and show how the technology can provide practical solutions to real world challenges in Botswana.

We are proud to celebrate the official launch of Wanzy App , a one-stop digital marketplace connecting consumers with local businesses across restaurants, pharmacies, grocery stores, and liquor outlets. Through its seamless digital platform, customers can browse, order and receive everyday essentials, while local businesses can expand their market reach and strengthen their last-mile distribution capabilities.

For us at BDIH, moments like these represent the impact of nurturing homegrown innovation. Meet Mpho Sethibe, founder of Amen Herbals.
Inspired by her upbringing and exposure to indigenous medicinal plants, Mpho transformed traditional knowledge into wellness products including herbal teas, ointments and oils.

Her journey with BDIH has helped Amen Herbals refine its strategy, formulation, packaging and go to market approach, while working towards scientific validation of its products.

Through opportunities to showcase its products, the venture has also been able to engage directly with consumers, gather valuable market feedback, strengthen awareness and explore opportunities for sales and distribution.

From the first idea to the final pitch, the Open Data Innovation Challenge 2 was three days of innovation in action.
Twenty four teams convened at the BDIH Science & Technology Park in Gaborone to explore how open data could be turned into practical solutions across four tracks; Discovering Botswana, Resilient Health Systems, Climate Resilient Agriculture, and Botswana’s Environmental and Energy Transition.

After receiving more than 270 applications, the selected teams brought fresh perspectives, technical skills and plenty of determination to the challenge.
Here is a look back at the moments, the collaboration and the ideas that made the weekend one to remember.
