This week, Cohort 2 of the MIT Botswana Early Stage Program came together with alumni from the inaugural cohort for an inspiring networking session. It was proof that entrepreneurship thrives through collaboration, shared experiences, and strong connections.

Participants gained valuable insights from Shine Monyatsi of Ipachi Capital and an engaging fireside chat with Bashi Gaetsaloe, Managing Director of Jupiter Consulting and Services, he shared practical lessons on building something from nothing.
Delivered by the MIT Kuo Sharper Center for Prosperity and Entrepreneurship in collaboration with the Government of Botswana, this intensive 12-week programme continues to equip early-stage founders with proven methodologies, world-class mentorship, and the tools to build scalable, high-impact businesses.

Delivered by the MIT Kuo Sharper Center for Prosperity and Entrepreneurship in collaboration with the Government of Botswana, this intensive 12-week programme equips early-stage founders with proven entrepreneurial methods, world-class mentorship and the tools to build scalable ventures.

The 2026 MIT–Botswana Early-Stage Entrepreneurship Development Programme is officially underway!

Today, we launched the second cohort of the 12-week programme, delivered in collaboration with the MIT Kuo Sharper Center for Prosperity and Entrepreneurship .

The kick-off was officiated by the Honourable Assistant Minister Ministry of Communications and Innovation -Botswana , Honourable Shawn Ntlhaile, and attended by BDIH Board Members, representatives from the Ministry of Trade and Entrepreneurship Botswana, and the MIT Kuo Sharper Center.

Over the next 12 weeks, entrepreneurs will work with MIT faculty and leading African entrepreneurs to validate ideas, develop minimum viable products, and build scalable businesses across agriculture, climate resilience, mining, health, and digital services.

Together, we're strengthening Botswana's innovation ecosystem by equipping entrepreneurs with world-class knowledge, mentorship, and global networks to transform bold ideas into thriving enterprises.
