The Minister of Trade and Entrepreneurship Hon. Tiroeaone Ntsima, yesterday met with beneficiaries of the Stanford Seed programme to explore their experiences and assess the initiativeโs impact on their businesses.
The session offered an opportunity for business leaders to share how the programme has improved their operational efficiency, strengthened leadership capacity, and supported overall business expansion.
Since the partnership between De Beers and the Stanford Graduate School of Business Seed programme began in 2018, 69 business leaders from Botswana have benefited from the initiative, highlighting its increasing contribution to the development of the countryโs private sector.
Following the engagement, the Minister toured O3 Beverages, one of the businesses associated with the programme, to gain firsthand insight into its operations, growth, and contribution to entrepreneurship and economic development.
The visit forms part of ongoing efforts by the Ministry to support entrepreneurship, strengthen local businesses, and assess the impact of business development programmes on Botswana's private sector growth.
The Stanford Seed programme is a collaboration between De Beers and Stanford University. It provides CEOs, founders, and senior management teams with training, business tools, and strategic insights designed to help companies scale sustainably.
The programme supports De Beers' Building Forever strategy, which focuses on creating long-term economic and social value beyond mining activities.
