IEC Botswana The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) was established in 1997, under section 65A of the constitution of Botswana.

IEC was established to conduct and supervise elections of elected members of National Assembly, Elected members of a Local Authority, conduct referendum and ensure that elections are conducted efficiently, properly, freely and fairly.
