VACANCY ADVERT- VACANCY CIRCULAR NO.14 OF 2026

The Botswana Energy Regulatory Authority (BERA) invites applications from suitably qualified professionals for the position of Procurement Officer, who will report to the Procurement Manager and support the effective implementation of procurement activities in line with PPR Act, and the Authority’s policies, procedures, and regulatory mandate.

Applications should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, at P. O Box 102 ABG, Gaborone, and emailed to [email protected], not later 24 September 2026. Email subject should be the Position title as it appears in the advertisement.

Today, petroleum retailers from the Southern Region have converged in Jwaneng to discuss BERA’s mandate, pricing, compliance, standards and quality assurance.

The engagement continues in Francistown on Thursday, 17 September 2026, as BERA takes the conversation to retailers in the Northern Region.

BERA continues engagements in Letlhakane

The BERA team engaged residents at the Letlhakane main Kgotla in an insightful community engagement focused on consumer protection, consumer rights, licensing, BERA’s mandate and opportunities within Botswana’s energy sector.
The engagement provided an opportunity for residents to better understand their rights as energy consumers, where to seek assistance and how to seek redress when their rights are not upheld.
Residents welcomed the engagement and expressed appreciation for the information shared, noting that they were previously unaware of some of their consumer rights and, in many instances, did not know where to turn when faced with consumer-related concerns.

BERA engages residents of Selebi-Phikwe

The Botswana Energy Regulatory Authority (BERA) held a productive Kgotla meeting at Botshabelo Kgotla, Selebi-Phikwe this morning, engaging residents on important issues within the energy sector.

Discussions centred on consumer protection, consumer rights, consumer dispute resolution, and unpacked the BERA mandate, which primarily relates to regulating the energy sector.

The session was well attended, with many citizens indicating they were not aware of their consumer rights and processes to register dissatisfaction from BERA licensees. Attendees expressed appreciation for the clarity and information shared during the engagement.
