About The Author Lefoko Oatile Molebatsi: Mr. Molebatsi embodies the very essence of a dedicated lifelong learner. From his early days as a student to his current academic pursuits, his journey has always been driven by a thirst for knowledge. He holds three degrees from the University of Botswana (UB): a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences, a Master of Public Policy and Administration, and a Master of Arts in Politics and International Relations.
Not content to merely acquire knowledge, Lefoko has spent his career paying it forward. He has taught at numerous tertiary institutions in Botswana including UB, Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT), ABM University College, the Botswana Open University, and the Institute of Development Management (IDM). Most recently serving as a Senior Consultant at IDM, Lefoko continues to advocate for education and youth empowerment. The title of his first book is: Elites versus Paticipatory Democracy (2013). He currently resides in Mmankgodi, Botswana and is pursuing his PhD in Political Science at UB.
About The Book: Every journey begins with a single step, but mine started at the cattle-post of Dimonyane. This book is the story of that journey – an autobiography that traces my path from the rural landscapes of my childhood to the halls of the University of Botswana (UB) in Gaborone. At its core, my story is one of an academic pilgrimage. But it is also a story of resilience. From navigating the turbulent waters of student politics to earning three degrees and battling back from professional setbacks, this memoir reveals the unyielding determination required to rise from humble beginnings. Written to ignite a culture of reading among the youth, this book is a living proof that with dedication and faith, everything is possible.
It is primarily written for secondary school students and anyone interested in education, leadership and motivation.
“Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we’ll ever do.” Brené Brown.
